You are all in for a treat (no pun intended)! This Dark Chocolate Brownie Skillet is to die for. With only 8 ingredients, all of which you probably already have in your pantry, you can whip up this irresistible dessert in under 20 minutes. It’s low carb, gluten free and paleo-friendly, so I can guarantee this is going to become your go-to recipe this summer!

Hiiii 👋🏼 Now that Memorial Day is behind us I think that official makes it summer!

We (Nick and I) have been busy this past month with bachelor/bachelorette parties and weddings and landscaping. May went by so fast!

It’s been an exciting time and luckily the fun will continue for the next couple months with 3 summer vacations, another wedding and everything in between.

Plus, I have a bunch of new recipes and workouts lined up for ya, that I’m especially excited to share. Including this bomb brownie skillet.

What You’ll Need to Make a Brownie Skillet:

  • Cacao or cocoa powder
  • Coconut flour
  • Baking soda
  • Dark Chocolate Chips
  • Coconut Oil
  • Pure Maple Syrup
  • Coconut Sugar
  • Egg
  • Halo Top (optional)
  • Cast Iron Skillet

I’ve been focusing on more paleo recipes this year because I truly believe it’s the “diet” that works best for my body – clean, simple, healthy ingredients.

If you follow a paleo diet than make sure you use cocao powder (not baking cocoa) and a paleo-friendly dark chocolate like Enjoy Life. (my fave!) Enjoy Life products are

How Do You Make A Brownie Skillet?

Honestly, this is one of the easiest dessert recipes ever.

You can whip up the brownie skillet in under 20 minutes which may be the best part, right after the taste 😉

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and spray a cast iron skillet thoroughly. Next in one large bowl mix together the cacao, almond flour and baking soda, making sure to stir/combine the ingredients before adding the wet ingredients.

Next, add your dark chocolate chips/chunks and coconut oil to a medium size (microwave safe bowl). Microwave in 30 second intervals until completely melted (about 1 minute total). Stir the chocolate until smooth and then add the rest of the wet ingredients – pure maple syrup, coconut sugar, and an egg.

Whisk the wet ingredients together and then add to the dry ingredients bowl, stirring until completely combined. Then add the brownie batter to the cast iron skillet and place in oven for 12 – 14 minutes.

Once it’s baked, let it cool for at least 10 minutes before serving. The top it with the best ice cream on the market – Halo Top! My favorite is Salted Caramel. (be careful, not all flavors are gluten free (and obviously not paleo) smirk face)

Serve it up and enjoy every bit of ooey gooey goodness!
